Anyone have any recent experience with the new green Auld Spot or the former second Auld Spot on College with the new name?

Had dinner at Hogtown Pub and Oyster (the replacement on College st)a few months ago , and was really unimpressed. Ordered some weird spin on Shepherds Pie with tater tots and beef which was awful. Weird rubbery beef and tater tots for $16 - what was i thinking!. My SOs meal was not great either. I won't be back.
Too bad - i dug the food under the old management.

Danforth location is excellent as usual. My last visit a few weeks ago was an amazing meal of a amazing East Coast wild oysters, a fantastic ploughman's platter, the best gnocci I've ever had and a mediocre fish cake. And a totally pointless but tasty 'beeramisu'. Pointless because after that meal, the last thing we needed was dessert. Our server, Rory was really great and we left saying "Why don't we come here more often"
A couple weeks before we were at the College location. It was terribly disappointing for all of our fairly large party. At best, they have standard, unimaginative pub fare. I'll never go back

I regularly go to the Danforth Auld Spot and enjoy it very much. Years ago it went through some ups and downs, but has been stable and my favourite pub for ages. Yes, Brass Taps is cheaper, but it's huge and cold feeling [to me], and if I want a bit cheaper I'll go tp the Jester [near Pape.] But the Spot is home.

You are correct in my opinion. But I would guess the menu has more than 50 additional items as well as being cheaper.

It's our "local" and we are in there at least every week, if not more. All the staff are wonderful and the menu changes have been great. My favourite change has been the addition of a daily Ploughman's platter. Always inventive and delish.

Ok I'll try the Ploughman's platter sometime in the next 2 weeks or so.

The Danforth location has had a tradition of excellent food for over 15 years despite changes of owners and cooks. The College location was taken over by one of the former owners of the joint venture - I believe-and I'm surprised to hear that the food is less than outstanding.
Am I correct that the Danforth place has been painted green.

Geez I was at the Danforth location this past Friday and for the life of me, can't answer that question. I have no idea. It is quite dark inside, I know that.

Well maybe the paint doesn't mean too much. I plan to go back there in the next two weeks to get an idea of what's happening. I've changed my usual place to the Brass Taps east of Logan. Everything is cheaper, much more choice, tastes about the same and parking on Logan is usually easy enough. Music is a bit loud but usually great selections.

What do you mean by 'green'?

Looking in from the sidewalk it appears the place has been painted a dark green.
