We went here tonight for dinner (sat night 7pm). What a nice diner. Place was almost at capacity. Nicely refurbished, very clean classic silver diner. Dimly lit with decent music and some neon lights if you can imagine that contradiction! I guess it got relocated from Stratford years ago. Seen it for years but never ventured in. First of all, cops were eating there, always a good sign--about seven different cops while we were there. Food all appeared to be fresh and homemade--even down to my son's chicken fingers which were fresh, not frozen. I had the chicken portobello with sundried tomatoes in a Marsala sauce--very nicely done and served with a very fresh mixed green salad. Nachos app (my son) was served with grilled chicken perfectly cooked, not dried out. My sister (wasn't hungry) ordered a plain chicken cutlet served with a beautiful mass of bright green fresh green beans. My other son got the kids rigatoni with tomato sauce that was clearly homemade, and he chose the fresh fruit salad for his side complete with kiwi, mango, melon, etc. They serve a lot of gluten-free and vegan items too. All the items coming off the flattop looked very fresh. Oh, my sister said their rice pudding was delish with a taste of orange zest and cinnamon. Server said all desserts are made there. Cherry pie was nice and tart (pie filling) with a good crust. I bet this place is jammin for breakfast. What a nice diner find.
