With all the great pizza being served in NYC, how is bad pizza still popping up?

I love pizza.

Please tell me which places to avoid.

The regular slice at Artichoke. Too thick crust, super sweet sauce, mediocre all around.

I'm not a fan of the spinach one either, but that's more personal preference.

I am not crazy about Artichoke pizza but @ 2 AM the side show is worth the price of a slice.

I like Two Boots, and I notice you never miss a chance to slam it. I realize that it's not to everyone's taste, style-wise, but it's not, objectively, bad. Bad pizza, in my opinion, has sauce that is either too sweet or too sour, tough or burned crust, rubbery cheese. Two Boots pizza has none of those drawbacks.

To each his own. To me, the crust sucks and the cheese is like Pizza Hut's. And, for me, that's a "disappointing pizza," especially in NYC.

I might as well pile on. Two Boots is terrible. They used to order it at work but it was the people from the Midwest who would eat it. Also "tough or burned crust" could be interpreted as perfect pizza depending on the degree.

The last time I had it was fairly recently, at their anniversary event in East River Park. It was not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. I accept that you hate it. I hate meat. But I wouldn't call meat "terrible."
