Where to pick up lunch to go near New Haven

L2k Oct 25, 2012 06:57 AM

visiting a sick friend on Saturday, need to bring lunch over for four people. Can't be too interesting, don't want it to be too bland.

Coming down from Boston on 91, and time is a factor, so prefer some place along the road, between exits 8 and 15 if possible, or just off the road. Need to be able to do the pickup by 10:30AM (I know, I'm difficult).

Meriden, Middletown, Wallingford, North Haven all work.

Luizzi Cheese in North Haven makes great sandwiches and also has prepared food for take out.
It is easy to get to off of rt 91.

I agree with jdgall, Liuzzi's (on State Street off of exit 10) has a wide enough selection of sandwiches and prepared foods and soups to satisfy
