Urgent - good subs enroute Milford, ct to Bronx zoo

cheereeo Oct 22, 2012 03:12 PM

We r headed to Bronx zoo tomorrow from Milford, ct. Will be getting dinner on Arthur ave after the zoo but does anyone have a great place ez off/on highway to get subs for eating at zoo? Needs to be open early enough that we can pick up around 10-ish and eat around 11:30--thinking nice Italian sandwiches that will hold up. I know gaetano's in Stratford but was thinking lower Fairfield county before you get off on 287.

Ended up at Cosmo & Alex Pisano Bros in Mamaroneck, NY. It was a perfect place to hop off highway and get back on to get to zoo. And awesome Italian bakery next door too. Locals said we chose well.

Art's Deli in Westport for Italian Subs...the best around, not super ez off/on the highway, but about a mile or so off Exit 17. Definitely worth it if you are looking for a great italian sub...

Love Art's but parking can be a pain, and it will be a little bit of a roundabout to get back to the highway- yes, its only a mile or 2, but 10 or more minutes...

Yes, which is why I said it wasn't ez on/off...but I think it's all moot at this point anyway since they were looking for this morning....hopefully they found some good food!

+1 on Gaetano's, and we have also really enjoyed the subs we have gotten from DiBella's on the Post Rd in Milford- in the former Krispy Kreme location.

But Gaetano's is SO EXCELLENT! You sure? :) Love that place.
