Hey, I'm looking for an authentic Xinjiang (新疆) restaurant in Beijing. Does anyone know of the best places to go? The best things to try?

  1. Lamb and bread dry-fried 囊炒肉 is a great dish.

    1. This older thread might be of some use. Perhaps Kris in Beijing (KIB has not posted in three months) might be able to provide an update, or JFlores who was there a year or two ago.

Thanks, I was curious whether there was an update

      2. In the summer of 2010, I ate at the Xinjiang Provincial Building's restaurant. Here's an article about it here: http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/beijing...

The menu had some English, and a few waiters spoke some English as well, and it was lively and really fun. Food was great. Definitely remember having the da-pan-ji (big plate chicken) and the lamb w/ dry fried bread. I unfortunately can't remember much else, but assuming it's still good, I think this would be a great option.
