Honey rosemary ice cream
I want to make this for dessert for a dinner party next weekend but since it's no longer summer, I do think it needs to be served "with" something, rather than alone. What would you serve it with? The ice cream - which I made during the summer - is drop dead delicious. Rosemary infused cream, sweetened with honey - much better than it even sounds. Something appley? Peary? What? I'm stumped.

pears and rosemary are a natural and any sweet corn meal or masa cake or cookie.
Personally,as good as your ice cream sounds,it stays the star and anything with it I would keep subtle, non compete, complimentary, minimalist.
baked pears,lynnlato's Nigella recommendation
"Gialletti" Cornmeal Cookies of Verona...drop cookies

add eggs one at a time, add extract, stir in dry ingredients
stir in nuts if usingdrop heaped teaspoons of batter onto greased sheets about 2" apart
350*f oven 7-8 minutes, edges will be dark goldif you have time for more work, hassle,Amaretti would also be excellent

Lemony polenta cake - oh yea baby! Like this one from Nigella - http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/L.... It's simple enough to let the ice cream shine but it would add a nice contrasting texture.

This is it:

Made it exactly as the recipe says and it was killer. Lemony polenta cake sounds like the winner (but poached pears also sound great...). It will be one or the other. Thanks!
