Honey rosemary ice cream

I want to make this for dessert for a dinner party next weekend but since it's no longer summer, I do think it needs to be served "with" something, rather than alone. What would you serve it with? The ice cream - which I made during the summer - is drop dead delicious. Rosemary infused cream, sweetened with honey - much better than it even sounds. Something appley? Peary? What? I'm stumped.

pears and rosemary are a natural and any sweet corn meal or masa cake or cookie.

Personally,as good as your ice cream sounds,it stays the star and anything with it I would keep subtle, non compete, complimentary, minimalist.
    baked pears,lynnlato's Nigella recommendation
"Gialletti" Cornmeal Cookies of Verona...drop cookies
    3/4 c fine cornmeal
    1.5 c AP flour
    1.5 tsp baking powder
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 c butter
    1 c sugar
    2 eggs
1 tsp EXTRACT vanilla or almond or orange or lemon you pick the flavor profile

OPTIONAL ADDITIONS scant 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

whisk flour cornmeal, salt and baking powder in bowl
cream butter and sugar, light and fluffy
add eggs one at a time, add extract, stir in dry ingredients
    stir in nuts if using

drop heaped teaspoons of batter onto greased sheets about 2" apart
350*f oven 7-8 minutes, edges will be dark gold

if you have time for more work, hassle,Amaretti would also be excellent

Lemony polenta cake - oh yea baby! Like this one from Nigella - http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/L.... It's simple enough to let the ice cream shine but it would add a nice contrasting texture.

That would indeed be very good.

            This is it:
            http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/foo...
Made it exactly as the recipe says and it was killer. Lemony polenta cake sounds like the winner (but poached pears also sound great...). It will be one or the other.

            Thanks!

Thanks so much. Def making the ice cream for an upcoming dinner party and now to chose between the pears and the polenta cake. These sound killer.

              Excited!!!!

"now to chose between the pears and the polenta cake"

Polenta cake! Although the flavor of the pears would be a fantastic flavor profile, I think the textural contrast the polenta cake would bring makes it the clear winner!

        Poached pears would work well.

          Spiced fruit compote.

Maybe fig compote, a lemon tuile, and a light dusting of powdered olive oil to finish the plate if you are feeling adventurous (super easy to make if you have the right stuff)
