Torn silpat

I noticed a couple of small tears in the centre of my 5 year old silpat. Is it still safe to use or should I toss it?

    Both, probably. (still safe to use, but probably time to think about buying another one before it completely falls apart)

      Now now, even torn ones last. I don't think I have ever seen an in tact one in a restaurant. They start out having annoying slits in the centre then sometimes if you are lucky you end up with two instead of one. Just be careful the strings don't pull off and get stuck in your food.
