You can easily find public transit directions online.

    1. Go to maps.google.com
    2. Search for "Soldier Field"
    3. Click on "Directions" and then click on the "train" icon
    4. Make Soldier Field "A" and for "B" type in "505 North State Street, Chicago, IL 60654" as the destination and hit "get directions"
    5. Directions appear!

Hi. Yes, you can take the El red line from Sable to Soldier Field. When you get off at the Roosevelt stop, you'll have to walk about 3/4 mile to Soldier Field.

I'll let others chime in about places similar to Sable...can't think of any recommendations right now.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "similar to Sable," but if you mean small plates with good drinks I'd recommend: Tavernita (Spanish influences, not the midwestern slant of Sable), Yusho (Japanese small plates with tasty cocktails), Quartino (Italian and more wine- than cocktail-focused), Girl and the Goat (we drank beer, not sure about the cocktails), Purple Pig (wine and swine), or the Publican (small meaty or seafoody plates + an impressive beer program). If you mean "helmed by a Top Chef alum," then GATG, Spiaggia, Sprout, or Frog N Snail.

For small plates (from a big-name chef) with craft cocktails, I would also add GT Oyster & Fish, whose cuisine specializes in seafood. For small plates from a big-name chef, but without the craft cocktails, Mercat a la Planxa.
