Dinner tonight-- west side of Kingston-Rhinecliffe bridge

Taking train to Rhinecliffe tonight where husband will pick me up, then driving to Woodstock ....I figure we'll drive back over bridge before we drink! Any suggestions for a great dinner on way back to Woodstock? It's been a while since we've been. (but I always love the Bear). Thanks!

  1. There are several nice restaurants in the rejunenated old section of Kingston. Worth checking out.

Boitson's is one of them...great atmosphere both inside and on the back deck (which has heat lamps.) Food was good. Very slow service on a Saturday night, but the atmosphere was an enjoyable one to wait in.

    2. i love elephant for tapas / small dishes, but be warned, it won't be fast. you can get wine, relax, enjoy a few good tapas.

if not, boitson's is supposed to be good (also in kingston), tex-mex @armadillo's in kingston, bear in woodstock, new world in woodstock...

and on this side of the river - red hook (italian: mercato, flatiron = steak) and tivoli (madalin's table, panzur for tapas / spanish cooking)

but i love elephant, and would go a LOT more often if i wasn't on the other side of the river.

Thanks and I will try it next time. We had not been to New World in a long time and tried it again....I actually found it sort of tired although some dishes were really good (my husband's special fish fry).
It's always fun but the food doesn't wow me anymore. Thanks for the Elephant suggestion.

i haven't been to new world in a few years (it's an hour+ drive for us), what was tired about it?
