Reno (actually Verdi) - Abel's Mexican

We drive by this place all the time going between Reno and Tahoe on I-80 (East Verdi exit) but hadn't eaten there until lunch today. It was right up there with as good Mexican food as we've had. Bob had the combo of a great chile relleno and a shredded beef taco. I had the plate of chile colorado, again really, really, really good. Both came with whole pintos (nice and firm) and rice. We couldn't finish our plates so I'm going to have a lovely lunch tomorrow :) The house Margaritas were definitely a notch above what you get in most places. They seem to have a lot of regular patrons there and I can see why. Along with El Adobe which I reviewed recently, we'll be bouncing back and forth! A HIGH positive recommendation.
Finally made it back here yesterday and it didn't disappoint. We both had the chile relleno/enchilada combo (one chicken, one beef). The food is perfectly prepared and the service is great. The owner is one of the most charming people and checks in. Hard to believe it's been so long since we were here.
