Has anyone tried Combine Eatery?

Need a quick dinner spot this evening and was thinking of something new.

Thought of Combine but need some input from reliable sources :)

  1. Had lunch there

    It's OK, but nothing exceptional

If you're looking for something different in that hood and haven't tried Aravind yet that would be my pick

Understood, but do keep in mind that Aravind is not the Indian most of us are used to, Keralan cuisine is quite different from the Northern Indian stuff that we usually see here, no electric red tandoori sauces or gloppy curries. It's really very fine.

    2. Eh- it was just okay. Most of what I tasted was bland and service was mediocre. I would recommend Pachuco if you're interested in Mexican etc.Much more interesting and delicious (definitely got the margaritas)

Have a lovely meal at Aji Sai. It was fast and very deelish. Just perfect for last night.

        Combine looks too risky. LOL

      2. Went to Combine Eatery Saturday evening. Had originally wanted to go to Globe but a surly person at the door blocked the way into it and said "invitation only". OK I get it, but to be so rude....
Anyhow, had the poutine to start and it was a huge portion. Fries were thin cut and swimming in gravy. Cheese was sparse. Mrs. had a couple of soft tacos for starters and was quite pleased. There was a pan seared pork chop as the daily special and I opted for that. Done to perfection and appreciated, hint of mesquite. As a main the Mrs. had the beef tacos. While tasty, she reported that the beef was on the dry side and a little over done. We ate late (9:30PM) so I get that the kitchen can be winding done. I likely won't be back for more meh :)
