Recommendations for a 1st Date @ Bloor and Avenue
My brother has asked me to help him find a great restaurant to take someone on a 1st date in the Bloor/Avenue area. I suggested Joso's, but I was wondering if any of you could help me with some additional suggestions.

I think Pangea would be great. Would not think the decor at Joso's would be good for first date, but then again I could be wrong.

re: kwass
if they go to pangaea, tell them to get the donuts. they're really nicely done, especially with the orange shake they're served with.
museum tavern is also quite nice, and a bit more casual.
i can't recall if c5 in the ROM does dinner. however a recent lunch there left me w/the impression that the cooking has gone downhill a bit, perhaps on account of the changeup in the kitchen. still, it's a beautiful room.
l'unita is just up avenue a bit, could be another option.

How old's your brother? An 18 year old would have a different set of expectations than a 38 year old.
A neat solution might be the Roof Lounge at the Park Hyatt, just a scootch north of Bloor 'n Ave. The lounge is old-school elegant, but casual, and the head bartender there mixes a mean cocktail. If the date calls for it, it's a neat location.

Museum Tavern's been getting love. Had some snacks there and thought they were good. Drinks look intriguing. A revisit, for a better evaluation, for me.
They can go wander the ROM later for shiggles if the dinner is good! Depends on timing though.
