Veritas
Has anyone been recently? We are going for an anniversary dinner this coming Saturday. We have not been to this restaurant for a couple of years now, but always enjoyed it in the past. Would love to hear from anyone who has been to Veritas in the last few months. Thanks.

We dined at Veritas last night and I am happy to say we had an excellent meal. The food was delicious and the service was perfect: always attentive without being intrusive. Why this restaurant does not get more mentions on CH I just don't understand. More later on what we ate.

So, only one response from anyone who has been to Veritas recently and this post has been up since 10/17. Interesting. Funny how some perfectly fine restaurants hardly ever get mentioned on CH. And then of course we have endless posts about EMP, Per Se, etc. I love look forward to coming to this board and reading most everyone's positive input, but this makes me wonder how many other truly good restaurants are in Manhattan that hardly ever/never get discussed.

Tommy - My Fiance and I went to veritas about a month ago to celebrate my birthday. As previously mentioned the lobster and bone marrow app is amazing. We also really enjoyed the beef in transition. I got the Duck which was a delicious surprise as it is done in a Peking style but with roasted fruit at the bottom of the plate which created a lovely balance to the dish. Fiance got the pancetta wrapped scallops which were very well prepared but almost inedibly salty (which we should have expected given the pancetta).
All in all it is a good, cozy restaurant which provided a great meal and a fairly memorable dining experience.

We dined there in July and enjoyed it a lot. The lobster with bone marrow and the maple-brined wooly pig are excellent. The wine list is superb if you are willing to pay.
