A Catered Thanksgiving Dinner

Yummye Oct 16, 2012 05:29 PM

I'm not sure whether this topic is appropriate to Chowhound, I've just learned that I will be having Thanksgiving dinner at my home this year and was wondering about having the meal catered. Has anyone used AJ's markets for this purpose and whether or not their food is any good. There advertising material makes everything look very appealing. Does this represent truth or wishful thinking?

AJs offers a full selection of passable, but uninspired fare. I'd try one of the restaraunts take out menus like Beckett's or Eddie Matney's if they do it this year instead. might pay a touch more but it will be worth it. If you go with AJs have plenty of your own spices on hand.

saw a table tent at La Grande for their Thanksgiving takeout today. Turkey or Prime Rib, all the fixings available, looked like reasonable pricing for a full menu or by the item. Might be worth a look.

The menu for La Grande Orange Thanksgiving Day is on their website. Looks excellent, imo.
