I believe all your party needs to be present before they seat you. Helps to get there early, best would be waiting before the doors open (and others will have similar ideas).

I always try to arrive 30 minutes before opening. I once got there 25 minutes before opening and missed the 1st seating by 1 table, and had to wait another 30 minutes to get seated.

Nothing has changed, it's still mobbed.

I got there at 5pm on Saturday -- 30 mins before opening time -- and there were already 8 names on the list. By 5:15, the inside waiting area was completely packed, with people lining up outside.

Thankfully, the food is still worth the wait. The tontoro (piggie cheeks) appetizer was delicious, the egg was correct (you know who you are :P) and the noodles were as chewy as ever.
