SLO: Reis Family's Pumpkin Patch--New Location

  • 1

The Reis Family have moved their Pumpkin Patch to their own ranch just a few miles down the road towards Los Osos. They have finished putting up buildings and are developing the patch in their enjoyable family style. I love that three generations are involved in working the ranch and running th farmstand.

I visited a couple of weeks ago to get some pumpkins and broomcorn, and found a new pumpkin sales area, the maze (now on a gentle slope), and ta-da! a pumkin catapult--a giant slingshot for launching pumkins!

There are the same baby farm animals, a picnic table, lots of broom corn and sunflowers, gourds, a new tom (shy) cat, the doggie, and old farm equpment for kids to see. This is the first year, so there will be more attractions coming. These folks are so darned nice--no pretense, just beautiful pumpkins and squash, and everything you need for decorating your home for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Prices are reasonable and there are many varieties to chose from. (they had just begun to decorate the area so these photos don't show everything as set up)

Glad to be able to continue the holiday tradition with the Reises in their new location. Drive about a mile west of the old location and then turn left into their driveway, slowly up the hill to the sales area.

  1. I got some sugar pumpkins for pies and cat food this week- they are really sweet this year.
