London-Visiting College-Age Daughter & Need Some Recs

We will be visiting our college-age daughter in London in February. We will be staying in the
West End. It has been about 5 years since we last were in London, so we're looking for some
good places to try and good places to take our daughter - probably not Thai, Indian, Vietnamese.
The restaurants or pubs need not be in the West End, as I expect we'll be roaming about.
Also would appreciate recommendations for a good pre-theatre dinner in West End.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  1. One of our favorite pre-theatre spots is Deux Salons. It's a short walk from there to most of the theatres. The food is quite good, and although the name sounds French, there are many British dishes as well on the menu. They have a pre-theatre prix fixe, but we always end up ordering a la carte for some reason.

That's a great idea - would appreciate some additional suggestions from fellow Chowhounds.
      thanks

Hi there. I think the problem is there are so many people who come on asking for general tips for London, and we can't type out the same lists all the time!!! I'd do a search for pre-theatre dining as there are a fair few threads. It kinda depends where the theatre is, but Les Deux Salons as June suggests, Terroir, Opera Tavern, Great Queen Street and J Sheekey would all be good choices around Covent Garden, and there's lots of reviews of them on here.
