  1. I read that in the Triangle Food Guys post earlier. Do you have any details on it yet? I'm having trouble picturing exactly where the location is...

Read it in the same source. Thought you might know since you are nearer to that area and have written about some of the seafood spots on the Capital Blvd. corridor.

I was driving in that area the other day but did not spot it - traffic was heavy. That part of town is strong on fast food chains so another option should be well received. I'll keep an eye out!

I tend to prepare seafood at home a bit. About the only time I order it out is if I'm craving fried. Then I go to Saltwater Seafood (fresh market with a to-go fry window) or the one at the Farmers Market. Or Blackbeard's if it is herring season!

Looking at the map it looks like it is opening in an existing building that used to be a seafood place. The best way to describe it: if you are going onto the beltline heading towards Capital Blvd you would see the building to your right as you getting on the ramp.
You can't access it this way but it tells you about were it is. I think there is a Hardees that faces New Bern Ave right there.

Is that the location that used to be the really authentic Chinese place? I was trying to catch a glimpse but since my turn signal was shouting "quick-pass me, jump in front of me and slam on your brakes" my attention was sidetracked...I hate that section of New Bern. I turned W. on New Bern from heading south on Trawick - not sure if I went by it or not. Next time I'll take New Hope Rd. down and have a little more time to scope things out!

If the place ends up having a variety of fresh (reasonably priced) oysters I would be excited!

Looks like if you're coming from downtown it will be right past Wake Med, past the beltline..

There are actually some good restaurants along New Bern. Frank's Pizza for instance

Thanks - that will help me spot it.

I'm usually driving by myself along that stretch so fast food and chain signage tends to be my impression. I have heard good things about Franks and need to try their pizza! What else do you like on New Bern? I live perhaps 10 min. from New Hope/New Bern and am still learning what options are close to home!

      2. I finally spotted where this place is! It is in the same shopping center as Mr. Wonderful's but is facing the cross street rather than New Bern Ave. It is next to the grocery store.

Looks like a take-out and order at the counter spot with some seating indoors.

Now that I've located it I'll try to give them a try at some point.
