The Modern Bartender

Today I found a newly opened store that is devoted to bar supplies - The Modern Bartender. It is located on E. Pender across from Ming Wo and looks like a playground for anyone who wants to geek out on cocktail stuff.

I'm no expert so I can't judge the breadth and depth of the product accurately but there's vintage stuff, new stuff, bitters, ice making stuff, books, stuff for making infusions and syrups etc, etc.

If there's any cocktail experts out there who know about it, please wade in.

Thanks for the tip! I'm looking for a local place that sells acid phosphate. Hopefully they do or can source it. (I've been purchasing it online for the last few years.)

Yes I'm pretty sure acid phosphate was there.

Just to confirm your sighting. They sell acid phosphate from Art of Drink - which is also my online source ( and as far as I can tell, the only source). $14 a bottle which is about the same prince ($13 USD) ordered on line.

This place (Modern Bartednder) is great. A candy store for cocktail geeks and soda jerks. The selection of bitters and syrups is the best in town. If you need to widen your palette of cocktail and soda flavourings, this is the place to go.

Thanks for the confirmation, fmed. I'm mostly a wine drinker so I'm a bit at sea when it comes to cocktails.

          I found the website: http://www.themodernbartender.com/ind...
