Asheville closings

It's been announced this week that Blue Water Seafood has closed and Solace will be closing soon. Bummer.

ETA: Apparently the Hendersonville BWS has closed as well.

Wow. That sucks. While I always thought the cooking at BWS was pretty mediocre and sometimes poor, (h'ville location) the seafood market portion was very nice. Just a few weeks ago, I got a piece of NC pink snapper that was one of the best pieces of fish I'd cooked at home in a long time. WAY better than most stuff I get at G'ville's Whole Foods. (whick is a great store with a seriously disappointing seafood section)

The owners quoted in the article used to work the counter in the h'ville location and they were so friendly and helpful. I hope they closed BEFORE they lost any money and move on to better things.

I was just in Asheville and had a really nice dinner at Blue Water Seafood on Saturday night. The food and service were excellent - no sign that they were about to close.

I noticed on my way home yesterday that the windows were all papered up. And there is an article about both of the closings in today's C-T. At least the online edition.
