Walking distance from the Broward Center

Can anyone recommend somewhere to have a nice dinner within walking distance of the Broward Center? We used to like Himmarshee and then Pl8 but I think they've closed. Is YOLO too far to walk?

Anything new and exciting, or have any of the previous recos gone uphill (or downhill)?

This would be for 3 ladies looking for pre-theatre dinner.

I am also willing to expand the area from "Walk to BCPA" to "Las Olas pretty much anywhere".

It looks like they will be staying at the Riverside Hotel.

O-B House (Old Florida Breakfast House) has been serving dinner for a while, and is next door to the MoDs and IMAX theatre, Certainly walking distance from the BCPA, even in heels. Closer to BCPA than ROK-BRGR, and a little more upscale. Share the Corn Oven Pancake appetizer.

Grill 401 is new and across the street from The Riverside Hotel. I have not been there yet. However, the menu looks good. If the food and service are anything like their sister property Brimstone than you are in good hands.

The Chimney House is a good casual option. Nothing fancy here but it's a nice place to chill on the patio with some interesting menu options.

Though I haven't been to Timpano in a while, I have never had a bad meal there, so I agree with all the others on that one.
I've only been to Rok Brgr once and the burger was very good. If it was more evenly cooked, I may have ranked it at the top of my personal burger list. However, the service there was terrible.

Thanks again everyone...really appreciate the comments. Just an update, I actually booked Timpano and have been really looking forward to it, but they called me last night to say the restaurant was just entirely booked out! They were apologetic and sweet, but, bummer!

Try Grill 401, almost directly across the street from Timpano in the old Rare space. We were there two weeks ago, shortly after they opened, and had a very nice meal.

Solita is east on Las Olas and the food and service are AMAZING! Ask to be sat w/ Steve he will take good care of you and the eggplant rollatini and/or the calamari - delish! I have never been to Grill 401 - Thanks for the rec gblcsw I will check out that place.

@sfeatz: when I recommened Timpano I was thinking about the Mussels; great call!!!!! @jenniferbn: Don't walk to Las Olas especially if you are wearing heels. If you don't have a car, spend the few dollars on a short cab ride; your feet will appreciate it in the a.m. Let us know what you decide :)

I second the cab ride. Las Olas spans for about 1.5 miles, with another half or so from bcpa to the east corner of the commercial section. Btw, we are going to be running it next Sunday as part of the Fort Lauderdale half marathon. But again, I am going to be wearing running shoes, shorts and t-shirt. Hardly the outfit for bcpa night event

I actually think Yolo is fine for an early dinner...Later at night, it becomes a "meet market." The food is decent, if not inspired. Atmosphere and service are good.

In response to your second question, YOLO is about 3/4 of a mile from the BCPA (2nd to Andrews, to Las Olas, to the restaurant.) Depending on time of year, and applicable footwear -- you make the call.

ROK: BRGR is awesome, but it is casual and the restaurant has limited seating. Not too much within walking distance from the Broward Center. If you are going to go to Las Olas don't waste your time or money on YOLO. Check out Timpano or Solita both are excellent options.
