Good Burger in Key West?

Last year we had a great brunch at Square One in Duval Square off Duval and Truman and the waiter swore their burger is the best. They won a contest in Tampa where they have a sister restaurant. So next week we'll try to fit it in our vacation eating and post about it.

Oooh, that's a great question!

I can give a pretty decent rec for just about any food in KW, with the exception of burgers, and I'd love to know the answer. This post intrigued me enough to do a quick search to see what I could come up with. UrbanSpoon put the Conch Shack at the top of the list, which I could definitely get behind considering the rest of their food. They list Schooner Wharf second. Their food is pretty good, although I recommend the atmosphere before the food, but I've never had a burger there so they may be something to speak of.

Now I have to go back and find out for sure.

So far the best I have had is the Nasty Burger at the Conch Shop on Petronia. It's not necessarily the biggest (Caroline's is much larger as are some others), but it had the best flavor and is big enough. I has grilled onions with some jalapeno, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle and I believe mayo. They're only open on Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun 11am to 7pm (4pm on Sun)

I'm sorry, I wrote Conch Shack...I was referring to the 'Conch Shop'.

I have yet to see the Conch Shack open ?
Husband tried the lamb burger at Solo Bistro & now that's his fav.

The Conch Shack is open only at certain times. I have yet to be able to get there during those times.

I've missed it 3 times in a row now.
