BIRTHDAY LUNCH AND DINNER, LOOKING FOR SPECIALS / DEALS - MANHATTAN
It's going to be my birthday in about 7 weeks and it's a milestone birthday. I'm looking for a place that has supervision, preferably as least controversial as possible, although I'm a little more flexible than much of the Ortho establishment. I and some of my guests won't eat at any of Steiberg's resstaurants, and I don't do non-glatt or places known to serve Agriprocessors meat, (NOT because of the scandal! but on religious grounds, so please no angry replies.)
I'm currently mostly considering Shalom Bombay for dinner, but don't think they have a special.
In the past I tried Madras Mahal and they ripped me off with a fake birthday special that was supposed to be free and I got charged for it. I didn't fight it b/c I was having a worst birthday ever moment, otherwise I was calling the police.
I'm looking for freebies, percentages off, etc. Thans for your help in advance.

Abigail's has a birthday "club" where you fill out a form with some info and they send you a card to come in for a free entree on your birthday. I believe you have to order an additional entree at regular price.
Depending on how many people you're dining with, the restaurant you choose may be able to work with you on creating a set menu. May be worth it
