The original Digger's Diner in Concord was started in 1994. Yet I found only one mention of it, recommending the burger, posted in 2001.http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/16567#46183
tried the digger's in hayward a while ago. ordered burger medium rare. got it well done.(seems all burger places do it medium at least, most are well done)burger was bland, no juice, dry meatmeat tasted fresh, not from frozen patties, fwiw..
Well, that sounds par for the course. I was curious about Digger's because Lumpy's Diner (Brentwood and Pittsburg) is owned by members of the same family. How would you compare them?
digger's burgers was dry. lumpy's burger was juicy but tasteless. would avoid them both.
I remember the Diggers in the Haight, but that was late 60s and likely has nothing to do with this establishment.
Likely not, this group was founded in 1994 by a gravedigger.
