Good Bars in Harrisburg Area for the 40+ crowd...

  • 7

I am looking for Bars/Clubs that have more of a 40+ crowd. I am 50 and have not been out anywhere in the area in 15 years. I don't want to be the Old Creeper among the 20-30 year old Ladies in the Clubs. Thanks...JJ

Well, it has been a while since I have been in the Harrisburg bars but we had relaxing evenings at the Hilton bar and Carley's. It might vary by the day of the week but McGrath's seems to have a not too young crowd. I am in your demo.

my parents don't do bars, sorry. (and the last time I lived there I was under 21)

      2. Appalachian Brewery has a place here in Lititz that's very popular and has decent food/beer.

They also have a Harrisburg location, their web site:

ABC in Harrisburg tends to be more of a family-friendly brewpub when I've been. IIRC, there's a bar upstairs where there is a range of ages.

        2. Good Luck, Chef,
If you do happen to discover a 40+ bar to your liking in Harrisburg it would likely be populated with a disproportionate number of PA politicians. As we (PA) have often been referred to as one of the most corrupt and ineffective state governments in the country you may find this cliental less desirable than being potentially defined as an Old Creeper.

          1. My experience has been there's a mix of ages at pretty much all bars except those on 2nd Street on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
The bars that were distinctly older were the bar/private clubs like Mannechor and the Elks Club.
