Best foodie restaurant for a Sunday night?

I've been pouring over the Atlanta board and was getting all sorts of excited for dining options for myself and a group of foodie friends converging in Atlanta for the weekend. However, we're really busy with the event we're in town for Thursday-Saturday. Sunday was looking perfect for a great dinner. Then I started noticing all of the places at the top of the list (Bacchnalia's tasting menu was tops) are closed on Sunday! I had high hopes for Eugene, but the one day we want, there's a private party taking over the whole place. So, now I'm left with little choices that I know of. Does anyone in ATL know of someplace with a top notch and fun menu that actually is open on Sunday?

I'm not sure if they do dinner on Sunday, but Local 3's brunch is really good. If all else fails, there's always Leon's in Decatur.

I would second ESS, but the second best meals I have had this year have both been at Abattoir. Same sourcing as Bacchanalia, just way more reasonable and relaxed.

Ecco's menu didn't really inspire us.

Abattoir won't work as they have the same problem as Bacchinalia. They're closed Sundays.

How about Iberian Pig? They are open until 9 on Sundays. You mentioned fun...

Just checked its open. Not a chain. Unreal food and service. Ask for Jamie or Taco as server. For sure get lobster mashed potatoes as side. And oysters as appetizer

just noticed the FUN comment--McK is a classic spot--- your groip might enjoy Gu's Bistro on Buford highway a really fun Szechuan place wirth outstdanding food--call them to make sure they dont have a large group there ask for Yvonne

Just FYI, the top spots I've found so far are White Oak Kitchen (2 blocks from our hotel) and Empire State South. Just wondering if anyone can think up another choice that they like better.

I would rather 4th and Swift on North Ave or the new Lure on Cresent Ave.

Thanks! Just sent those to our group. I'd overlooked 4th and Swift as a Sunday option. Lure is a new one to me.
