EVOO

A new restaurant opened on Notre Dames west st in the old space of Bon Appetite Des Caribes

The décor has been totally redone upscale and they have a brunch menu posted in the window.

Nothing on the web, anyone know anything else about it?

        I heard bakery/cafe for that location by Java U.

      2. I'll be checking for reports, but I have little hope. The very name of the place has my bullshit detector on high-alert.

          I agree that the name is not really great, but I would not judge them before trying it. First feedback I've heard/read are pretty good actually...

          I HATE that stupid evoo moniker and I hate Rachel Ray for spreading it....

          it just upsets me.

            My friend is a cook there. He worked at Sinclair and DNA. He was a pastry chef in Ireland beforehand. They want to offer a fancy rustic menu. They are open for brunch.

              but seriously, the menu looks very original - deceptively simple. i can't wait to try it.

            2. Near where I live so I'll definitely try at least their brunch. Not crazy about the name but love their menu!

                Went for brunch and went back for dinner just to be sure that it was as great as I thought. Precise, lots of work in the plate, lightyears ahead of basic pulled pork and tatooed's chefs (finally!). It's one of my highlight of 2012. I agree the decor is completely dull and need to be change. And forget about the name. You should go.

                  I'd finally come to terms with the name enough to walk up to the place, and then saw the interior. Places so lacking in ingenuity when it comes to these important elements typically are equally dull when it comes to the cooking. However, I'll check it out based on these reviews!

              2. A very good review of EVOO was published this weekend in French in the Journal de Montréal.

                I've had brunch there and enjoyed it very much, although it was a bit heavy. But their scones were to die for!
