Birthday Dinner in Burlington Tonight - Can't afford Blacktree
Morning,
Need to take a close friend (with a group of friends - girl's dinner) out for birthday tonight in Burlington or close to Burlington - we all work in restaurants so ironically we don't get out all that often or at least don't try new places all that often. Would be interested in opinions / suggestions - so far the menu at The Alex looks interesting. Can't afford Blacktree or the Lord Nelson. Twisted Lemon is a little far away for tonight I think.
Would appreciate thoughts?

I haven't been to The Alex, but have been to its' "sister restaurant", Rapscallion (in Hamilton) a few times. If the service and food at Rapscallion is any indication, you'd be in for a treat at The Alex. Probably not as much info as you'd like, but may be helpful.
I went for lunch to the Martini House a couple of months ago, and was impressed by their food. That might also be another option.
