fanny bay oysters from dianas

they sent out an email special of 120 fanny bay oysters for $70. my usual favorite are the kushi oysters, anyone know how they compare?

also, does anyone notice any freshness issues getting oysters at dianas during their weekend specials vs regular pricing?

Wow. Never known anyone to be excited about fanny bays before. When I worked in Vancouver these were the oysters you bought in a tub to cook with. Definitely not an oyster I would want to eat raw. Too big and too muddy tasting.

sorry I didn't buy them. I tasted a sample in the store and they were too large! would be nice , for frying though!

They include tasting notes on their restaurant menu in case you want a thumbnail description before tasting yourself and plunking down your money.

szw- I buy oysters @ Diana's at least every other month and they have always been fresh.
If you are uncertain about a particular type of oyster they will open one and give you a taste. I tried the jagas from Ireland last time and they were DIVINE!
