This Dark Horse Is Becoming My New Favorite Brooklyn Restaurant

Used to love Saraghina but sadly since the owners split up service has become very poor. And food at Celestino, the place the departing owner opened up isn't as good.

Am really falling in love, though, with Thirst Bar a Vin. Wines are unusual and delicious. Food is very good, though nothing spectacular. Menu rarely changes. And plates are small so it ends up being expensive because I have to order a lot.

Somehow, though, I don't care about the negatives. The wine is so yummy & they always let you taste. At least one of member of the couple that owns the place is always there. And the place is SOOO peaceful. Yes, that's right, you can actually have a conversation without raising your voice.

  1. maybe we will have to try again - we thought the food was good but both the wine quality and hospitality were off - when we visited last year. thanks for the report.

yes on an earlier visit a few months ago the wine wasn't all great. but when we went on saturday I tried 5 different wines (2 white, 2 red and 1 desert) and thought they were all delicious.
