I'm looking for the best oysters within an hour and a half's drive, preferrably under an hour. Any recommendations?

  1. Blue Point Grill, Princeton.

The absolute best selection of oysters in the area - changes daily but typically about 8 types to choose from. Great fish and seafood as well. byob. Secure a reservation on opentable as it's always busy.

Enjoy and welcome to the area!

    1. Or for do it yourself / take home, try the Metropolitan Seafood & Gourmet store in Lebanon, about a 40-45 minute drive north of Princeton. The proprietor, Mark Drabich, keeps several varieties on hand - east coast and west coast - and usually has one or two that are new to me. His guys will shuck them for you too. The best fish monger in that part of the state.

      1. I don't eat oysters, but several people I've had dinner with at The Metropolitan at The Borgata said they were very good.

        1. Blue Point Grill is absolutely your best bet in the immediate area. If you don't mind driving north, you should also try the Milford Oyster House, one of the best seafood restaurants in New Jersey (as is the Blue Point). The name says it all.

          1. +1 for Blue Point Grill. My wife and I went there for our anniversary in May specifically for the oysters and were not disappointed.
