I have two gift cards...

Need to decide between Chili's, Macaroni Grill, On the Border, or Maggiano's.
Haven't been to any of these joints in probably 5+ years - never been to On The Border (or even heard of it,) or Macaroni Grill. My gut says Maggiano's as I remember it being decent, but that was a long time ago. Two 25.00 gift cards, I'd like to use them both up for one dinner. 4 adults, and one 3 year old. Which would you choose, and what would you get? We eat anything and everything.

Maggiano's is far superior to Macaroni Grill, but you'll end up paying out of pocket for four adults, even with a $50 discount. Chili's would be a waste -- don't even bother. On the Border used to be pretty good, but there aren't any left around me (in Central Florida). I'd definitely go to Maggiano's as long as you're willing to pay some of your own money.

I love the linguine with white clam sauce at maggiannos. It is among my favorite preperations, anywhere. However, I have heard that maggianos in Chicago is different than the rest of the country.

Def Maggianos. It's not bad at all, in fact I really like their gnocchi. For 4 adults and a 3 year old, I would go with their family-style menu, you'll still probably have leftovers, since their portions are ridiculous.

Ever consider re-gifting those beauties? If I had to choose , On The Border is OK and probably a safe choice that 'might' be within your 50.00 card limit.

I actually found an "On The Border" a few months ago by accident. We were out shopping in unfamiliar territory and one shined like a beacon of light at lunchtime while we were driving. Fail. Oversalted EVERYTHING. D/c had the fish tacos, I had the brisket tacos. Everything was loaded with salt. Mostly inedible. Chips, guacamole, beans, rice, meats. All just loaded with salt.

          I regifted the other card.
          Thanks for the thoughts!
