Local retailer of James River barbecue sauce?

This is the classic sauce for Kelly's-style roast beef sandwiches, and I have a nice top round roast from a local farm. Anyone seen it on Boston-area store shelves? I know where to find it online.

  1. wish I could help you Slim. It's avaible in my Hometown of Lynn

    1. The only place I've seen is at Butcher Boy in Andover.

      1. Lynn is Greater Boston in my book, bluesjack. Where are you finding it?

sorry for the delay my computer was down, probably too late but Meatland on Eastern ave has it

        2. I'm sure any of the local beef places would be able to sell you some in a plastic container.

They'll sell you a whole bottle. Nick's in Beverly certainly does.

The Danvers Butchery used to sell it, too. I imagine they still do.

          2. You might give Lord Jeff's a shot and could try calling first. I know that the Beacon Street Star Market in Somerville also used to carry it, but I am more used to seeing the gallon containers. If you want to call around, I might try Johnie's (ask for a manager and they also allow you to email them -- Arlington is fairly helpful), McKinnon's, and that Beacon Shaw's. I think you know this, but some places which do their own roast beef locally use "peeled knuckle" for it.
