Looking for something "fresh" on Upper East Side (UES)

As the title suggests, I am looking for a restaurant with food that screams freshness on the Upper East Side. A place like ABC Kitchen or Northern Spy Co where the dishes are simple and the delicious ingredients speak for themselves.

I know a favorite is Beyoglu, which in some ways fits this criteria, but I was less than enthused on my last visit there.

I'm looking for anything from ABC Kitchen prices to a takeout joint. Ambiance not as important as food. Any suggestions?

83 1/2 Is it!!!! Farm to table concept -I've enjoyed all my meals sinced they opened. Most memorable thing for me was their Leige salad w crispy pig ears!! Don't knock it until you try it. Located on E 83rd just off 1st Ave. Best to call for reservations. The serve from 6pm-wish they opened at 5pm!
