ISO - substitute for Trader Joe's Chickenless Nuggets
It's happened to me again...something I love gets discontinued at Trader Joe's. We tried the "chickenless tenders" they offered as a substitute, and hated them. The Morningstar Farms version is just OK, and somehow has a lot more fat than the old TJ's formula. I know these probably exist under some brand name somewhere...any ideas?

My daughter was devoted to these until we discovered TJ's Chickenless Tenders. It's not the same thing at all, but she likes it better, so much so that I didn't even realize that the nuggets were gone (and I still have a box in the freezer). I agree that the Tofu Edamame Nuggets are a good substitute as well.

I feel the same way. First it was the Soy Nuggets and now the Breaded Chickenless Nuggets. I sent an email to TJ's and the following is the response I got (p.s. I want to find their supplier):
Hi,
This product was discontinued due to nationwide slow sales. Inventory is no longer being produced, and we are contractually bound to a non-disclosure agreement and may not divulge our supplier. I am sorry for the disappointment, and appreciate your desire to its return.
I have made note of your request and comments below and have advised our Product Steering Committee, who will absolutely take this under consideration. I cannot guarantee a specific outcome; however, we absolutely take customer requests into account when we develop new products and revise or bring back old ones!
Regards,
Kerry

Probably not the same, but I like these little guys: http://www.veggiepatch.com/content/ch...
They're usually over by the Lightlife products somewhere near bagged salads, at least where I live.
