ISO - substitute for Trader Joe's Chickenless Nuggets

It's happened to me again...something I love gets discontinued at Trader Joe's. We tried the "chickenless tenders" they offered as a substitute, and hated them. The Morningstar Farms version is just OK, and somehow has a lot more fat than the old TJ's formula. I know these probably exist under some brand name somewhere...any ideas?

  1. Probably not the same, but I like these little guys:

They're usually over by the Lightlife products somewhere near bagged salads, at least where I live.

Have seen those but not tried them...the nutritional info looks pretty similar though. Thanks!

    2. These are a little different than a true 'meatless' nugget, but I LOVE the soy edamame nuggets.

      1. I feel the same way. First it was the Soy Nuggets and now the Breaded Chickenless Nuggets. I sent an email to TJ's and the following is the response I got (p.s. I want to find their supplier):

This product was discontinued due to nationwide slow sales. Inventory is no longer being produced, and we are contractually bound to a non-disclosure agreement and may not divulge our supplier. I am sorry for the disappointment, and appreciate your desire to its return.

I have made note of your request and comments below and have advised our Product Steering Committee, who will absolutely take this under consideration. I cannot guarantee a specific outcome; however, we absolutely take customer requests into account when we develop new products and revise or bring back old ones!

Good idea. I've never emailed them before, but maybe I will this time. Those nuggets were a real weeknight comfort food/guilty pleasure staple.

        2. My favorite chickenless nuggets are the Quorn Nuggets. Great texture, not overly salty. The thing is they are PRICY!

          1. TJs Tofu Edamame Nuggets are different--but you might try them.
