Shop w/good selection of nice sherry wines?

There's always Despana (love that place), but any suggestions on other places that would have a good selection of sherry?

I'm currently obsessed with the stuff and need cheaper options than buying by the glass from restaurants/bars! Thanks.

a quick search of Astor Wines' site shows 35 sherries -- this may include some plonk and/or the same wine in different size bottles, but it is easy to check on their site.

Chambers, as mentioned below, is great and is doing a big Sherry tasting on 10/20. Free, I think.

Also, I know by the glass is expensive, but do consider Terroir for the breadth of what you can try. Also, at most location, just coming in before a certain hour (6pm in the RV) gets you a FREE glass of Sherry just for asking.

Wow, this Sherry Fest sounds amazing! It looks like grand tasting is sold out, but hopefully I can get a friend or 2 to join for a dinner.

I will definitely be doing the sherry tasting on 10/20, though. I have a feeling I will go broke that day buying sherry!

I'm closest to Terroir in Tribeca so will check that out - thanks for the recs!

If you go to Terroir, they have my favorite port there. Niepoort Coheta... it's not sherry, but it is exceptional. They also have pretty good Madeira Bual.

Chambers Street and PJ's are both solid with PJ being cheapest in town on most things, and 67 wine is starting to carry more and has a woman who is very engaged in bringing in more. For just fino/manzanilla I think Despana is tough to beat though. You might be interested in this thing coming up as well. I am going to the grand tasting and the dinner at El Quinto Pino, looks pretty cool.

The grand tasting has been sold out, but I'm definitely planning on going to the sherry tastings on 10/20 - thanks for sending! Had never heard of this festival and I'm glad you posted about it (I have a habit of finding out about these things after they happen...)

i've even created a Google map that maps out the locations I want to hit on 10/20!

Tinto Fino has an interesting Sherry "club".
