Has anyone seen any in stock? Been searching for these--would like to get them as a Christmas gift for my b/f but I can't find them anywhere, help would be appreciated.

Right now, this is like searching for a unicorn.

Best of luck; I live on the Bourbon Trail and have only found the 23 yr. old twice. Here's the little neighborhood liquor store where I found it: 859-254-8642. I'm not sure what the alcohol shipping laws are here, and they will not be able to tell you if/when they may get some. And they will probably say they can't save or reserve it for you. Very helpful, I know. I have seen it pop up on eBay a few times though. That's probably your best bet.

eBay recently put an end to booze auctions on their site. I agree though that buying via auction is probably your best chance. It never even makes it to the shelf of the store I go to that gets a small allotment. They are sold to regular customers who are alerted via email and only a small amount of those customers who want a bottle end up getting one. Good luck though.

I think a lot of the auctions went to craigslist

I didn't know that about the booze auctions. My boss bought a collector bottle of Makers a couple years ago, but it had to be listed as a collectible, and not as a drink. I checked in with my friendly neighborhood liquor store and was laughed at. They did say they usually get it in around the end of October.

It was only in the last month that they changed their policy.

Just saw this news today that the new allotments are hitting the shelves in the next couple of weeks:

Maybe with ebay doing away with liquor sales the already inflated prices will not be as over inflated. This whole artificial low supply issue to create scarcity and drive up prices just turns me off.

Though, I gotta say 23 years is a looong time to age something and as a business has to be successful I doubt they put a large amount of any given year's produce into the 23yr program, so I don't think that this particular product's scarcity at least is very "artificial"...

Update - My friendly neighborhood liquor store told me yesterday that shipments are running behind this year, and they're expecting it to hit stores the first week of November instead of late October. I'm heading out to buy a tent and warm sleeping bag to stake out the deliveries.

Try Signature Wines on Ocean Park in Santa Monica- he had a few bottles of 23yr last I checked, and they weren't selling. Not cheap- $200+

Try Hi Times in the OC. They sometimes have it but I agree with the unicorn search. Was told by a buyer that they get a bottle or two for multicase purchases of the other whiskeys.
