Redemption at the River Cafe

OK, so returned to The River Cafe for a lunch "date" with my wife today, a beautiful Alberta autumn afternoon.
It was the lunch hour so the RC was very busy....we had to wait for a patio table which was just fine. The hostess acknowledged us as she was seating others & on her return offered to seat us at the bar while we waited for a table. It was a brief wait & we were seated at a patio table by the very engaging hostess who recognized us from previous lunches/dinners.
Our server was very professional & friendly. My wife ordered the salad with peaches.goat cheese & greens....superb is the only word that applies. I had a bite of a peach slice & it`s years since I`ve had a peach that tasted like a "real" peach. She had the forno roasted tomato soup...again, unbelievably good!!
My choice was the flat iron steak...grilled to medium-rare perfection with a very attractive presention. To complete the meal, there was the obligatory sorbet. Todays offerings were rhubarb & peach. Again, very, very good!
It was a wonderful lunch & we look forward to our next lunch "date" in October. I suspect that we won`t be sitting on the patio!
This experience has left us feeling very positive about River Cafe again.

PS: Scary Bill, no need to respond to this thread!

I really liked that salad when I ordered it a few weeks ago. The presentation was gorgeous.
