Early breakfast in Downtown Toronto

I am accompanying someone who has a MRI scheduled for an unbearably early time midweek around University/College. By 5:30am-6am we'll be ready to start the REAL day with a fine breakfast. Any suggestions for a good place open that early? (BTW, the appetite of the "patient" is hearty and unconstrained.)

Fran's on College just West of Yonge used to be open 24 hours - not sure if it still is.
Corned Beef Hash used to be pretty good.

Yes that Fran's is still open 24/7.

If you're looking a treat to perk them back up, check out Tundra in the Hilton. They're open early and do a great breakfast for a reasonable price.

Oh, brings back memories of my husband's MRI appointment once - 3:30 am. Thankfully, he too was healthy and unconstrained.

I think that Cora on Carlton, just east of Yonge, opens at 6. There's also Mars on College, near Bathurst. Thompson Diner sounds like a good bet for the best of the bunch - I would think that some of the other hotels may be options as well. And assuming you have a car, the traffic is pretty non-existent at that hour so you can consider an extra few minutes in the car to chase that fine breakfast you're looking for.

It's a little bit of a trek from where you will be, but the Thompson Diner @ Bathurst and Wellington is open 24 hours, and they serve a pretty good breakfast..
