Don't know where I first heard this news, Chef Ed's Weekday Cafe in Eastpointe to close...

My DW and I stopped in Monday morning for breakfast (great). Candace confirmed the sad news. She and Ed's last day in the Cafe is December 21st. She was almost giddy at the prospect of them relocating to Charleston, SC next Spring.

For us, a loss.

Yeah, I was told to keep a lid on the news by them. That's also why I've been frequenting them more, a *lot* more, in the past few months. I want to enjoy what I've got while it's here...not when they're gone.

I think I'll call them and see if they can put mulligatawny on their soup menu midway through next week. I'm dying for a crock or four of that.

      Gang,

I think this may be worthy of another group outing.

Drove by the shuttered store yesterday afternoon about 4.

New awning in place announcing: The Pot Cafe. Don't know if its open for business, or only does a breakfast/lunch, because the store was dark.

Yeah, Donna and I stopped by in homage the night we went to the visitation for a friend's dad and ate at Noble Pig. It's really just sad. I have no idea whether or not the new place is any good (it hasn't been open any of the two times I've been by there), and I'm honestly not given to care, which is categorically unfair of me.

        Still...it feels like they're usurping. ;)
