Staying on 7th near Howard Sun. Sep. 30, 6 people, omnivores all. Any thing within walking distance, i.e. 6 blocks?

AQ - innovative, unconventional food with excellent cocktails. Excellent choice w/in walking distance. Very popular right now - a board favorite - though for my palate, it's not my favorite in the city.

    Citizen's Band is another option.

For Drinks, Bloodhound used to be a laid back neighborhood option, but it's started getting super crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.

You will be staying right on the edge of not-so-great areas of SF. At night you may want to take a cab (for the most part it's mostly an uncomfortable experience not so much an unsafe one).

Agreed. AQ and Citizens Band, depending on your mood and desires. Both good, both near.

It looks like it hasn't been posted online yet. It was published in SFEater: http://sf.eater.com/archives/2012/09/...

I want that Brussels sprouts dish!

Who knows?! The dish you get at AQ is almost always much more than the menu would lead you to believe.
