Help me make this soup

So, meal planning for the week, I ask DH do you want broccoli cheese or potato soup? He answers, "Broccoli potato! With beer cheese!"

Urk. Seems like it's got too much going on, to me anyways, but I'm going to try.

How would you go about making such a soup?

Use a recipe for beer cheese soup. Cook the broccoli and potato (steam or nuke) until almost the desired tenderness, then stir it into the soup for the last 10 minutes or so of cooking.
