TN: 2008 Chavignol, Les Monts-Damnés, "Cuvée Buster," Domaine Thomas-Labaille
The regular bottling has long been one of my favorite Sancerres, but this -- the "Cuvée Buster" -- is always nigh on impossible to find. (Indeed, it's so rare that only a couple of cases come into California.)
Pale green-edged straw, clean and bright; light mineral notes and Sauvignon Blanc with a light leesy note; on the palate, the youthful edge of acidity has married into the wine, which is now supple and harmonious, well-balanced, rich, lush, and filled with flavor; the finish is clean and lingering. Truly excellent.
