Does anyone know a store in Queens that sells ethnic Turkish ingredients? I am specifically looking for biber salcasi (pepper paste) and Urfa biber (crushed red pepper).
You might try Mt Ararat in Bayside. They have a nice selection of Middle Eastern spices. Not sure about Turkish, call first.
thanks for your replies. I found what I need at Turkiyem Market46-31 Skillman Ave., Sunnyside, Queens718-937-3456.
If you go to Sunnyside (by the Queens Boulevard 7 train stops, between 33rd and 40th streets), there's a small Turkish community. Can't recall the names right now, but there's a few pan-Arab/Turkish stores around.
Don't recall if these are in Queens, but here's a start:http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/841871
