Anyone know what's happening with Fuji bakery?

They closed suddenly in July, promising to open at 1030 Elliott Way in "a few months." I went by that address a couple of days ago. No markings. It's just an old industrial building. Through the dirty windows, it looked like there had been some chopping up of the concrete floor to put in a couple of drain pipes. That was all. This was on a weekday with no signs of any further work in progress. No materials, no workbenches, etc..

Sign in the window in the ID says they'll be back in December!

I've been wondering, since they closed the ID location, about the logic behind closing your bakeries before your new bakery has even gotten started. They probably have a reason but I can't think of what it would be.

There's no updated info on the website, PAO.

I emailed the contact on the website and just got a reply from the folks at Fuji. They are still waiting on city approval for their master construction permit. They're hoping to have it next week. And the dirty windows I mentioned will turn into something that will be a nice surprise.
