Shout out for Hole-in-the-wall Burger Joint (WeHo)
Quite impressed by the ground chicken burger at Hole-in-the Wall! Absolutely delicious on their pretzel bread and topped with perfectly-grilled onions. The patty itself was flavorful and juicy. Price was reasonable given the generous size of the burger.
All of the employees were absolutely delightful.
I will definitely be returning.

I enjoyed this place a few times & just noticed it's gone! Now it's something called Biscuit Time or Biscuit Cafe.

re: katydid13
It relocated to Santa Monica http://www.holeinthewallburgerjoint.com/ (plus it opened a second location in WeHo IIRC).

Hole in the Wall Burger is in W.L.A. in the back (east) corner of the minimall on the S/E corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Sepulveda, behind the Winchell's Donuts. It is not in West Hollywood.

re: nosh
Nosh, there are two locations.
http://www.holeinthewallburgerjoint.c...
But the real reason I'm chiming in is to note that there is a Fatburger going in to the same little strip mall as HITWB in WLA. I think it's interesting that there will be two relatively similar burger places in the same little area. Not saying they are exactly the same, but the price point is sort of similar.

re: PaulF
I did have to laugh when I looked at the main page for their web site http://www.holeinthewallburgerjoint.com/ and saw the location behind Winchell's contained in the huge location logo at the bottom of the page reading SANTA MONICA inside the burger...Someone at HitW needs to have a chat with their web site designer about getting that to read WLA or something along those lines...

re: Servorg
Sorry, had no idea they expanded. When I was there -- awhile ago -- it seemed like a very owner hands-on operation at the W.L.A. location.
Will be interesting to see if Fatburger and Hole-in-the-Wall kill eachother off, so close together. I used to hit the former tenant, Yoshinoya, every couple of months, until they ruined the combo bowl by chopping up the chicken into little chunks instead of a recognizable boneless thigh sliced into strips with the delicious skin attached.

re: nosh
I stopped going to Yoshinoya when they started to post nutritional information. =( I never thought the large beef bowl w/ extra broth was low-fat or low-sodium, but I nearly died when I saw just how much of both it contains.... ::sigh::
On a (somewhat) related note, I like the pizza place for their meatball sub.... Yum (except for the inevitable heart burn that follows....).

re: ilysla
That pizza place (with New York in its name) was the subject of some notoriety on this board a few years ago when someone proclaimed its pizza as the best on the westside. I tried it and was fairly unimpressed. But I'll try a good meatball sub.
I've been hitting that stripmall lately for the new Del Taco -- they have a salsa bar with their really spicy "El Scorcho" sauce and a tub of spicy salsa -- three squirts of the former with one-half ladle of the latter makes a great mix to spice up the cheap basic crispy tacos.

re: nosh
Oh, I think I vaguely recall that thread! Don't think I've ever tried the pizza there.... I should note that it's been several yrs since I've been to the pizza place. The sub was simple and tasty but not transcendent.... ;)
Argh! Not Del Taco! Save your fat grams for something else!

re: PaulF
If you are talking about their web site and the "burger" icon that says "SANTA MONICA" in the middle, that makes little (no) sense to me as, noted, both locations ARE ON Santa Monica Blvd. (while the other burger icon says "WeHo" in the middle). Just one of those little oddities that makes life notable...
