I will be in Rome November 3-12 and Florence one day for the first time. I need recommendations on where to eat. I would like great food and variety. Thanks

hi gswolfe. there are simply hundreds of discussions on these topics already on this Italy board. If you don't differentiate your inquiry, it is very difficult for anyone to respond usefully. what I suggest is that you read some of the current threads or else use the search feature in the upper right . Also that you give a price point and any other relevant info about your visit. Then the folks on the board can be more helpful to you in making your choices..

If you're interested in food tours, you might enjoy the olive picking weekend November 9-12 at Ozu Cultural Centre. Its a wonderful way to experience the countryside close to Rome and get to learn about the olive oil process right at it's roots! The food is truly spectacular too :) http://www.ozu.it/pagina_open.asp?id=...

If you check back in with specifics like where you'll be staying or the sights you'll be visiting, then we can all chime in with specific advice. Otherwise there are lot's of other discussions and reports by travellers that are extremely helpful on this board.
