Early dinner in Jerusalem

To catch a flight, I have to be done with dinner and in a taxi by 7:15pm. I have found that most restaurants open at 6:30 and remain quiet until 8, but I would like to sit down at six. I don't mind an empty restaurant. On my trip I have had great meals at chakra, workshop, sea dolphin and Gabriel and I'm looking for something similar to that. Suggestions?

You could try Machene Yehuda - arguably the best food - but might be a problem with the time constraints.

However, given your timing if you're open doing something less formal, then Kadosh (on Shlomtzion) or Cafe Mizrachi in the shuk are both excellent cafes that serve incredibly late lunches/early dinners. Cafe Mizrachi especially basically serves its entire menu all day, so there are "dinner" type options as well as. Also The Colony (located in Baka near Workshop) and Lavan at the Jerusalem Cinematheque (which are basically the same restaurant), are open through the afternoon and are both quite nice.
