400 Coups or Le Club Chasse et Peche
Hello all - I will be in town in November with my SO to celebrate his brithday. I am looking to have dinner on a Friday at either 400 Coups or Le Club Chasse et Peche. I have read extensively on this site about each individual restaurant and both sound lovely, but am having difficulty discerning which is the better option for a memorable meal as this will be our only fine dining dinner of the weekend. Money is no object. Unfortunately we will not arrive early enough for the Friday lunch at 400 Coups. Thanks in advance!

Money not beeing a concern, I would say Club chasse et pêche. Perfect meal, perfect atmosphere, perfect service from AtoZ. The standards are a level up of Les 400 coups I found. It is more romantic/ intimate as it is in a brick basement. You feel like you are entering in a very private club. Les 400 coups is amazing for desserts and the place is nice but not the same. It is more jet-set type of crowd. If I may, you should also consider Toqué!, Joe Beef and Laurie Raphaël.

I've been to both a few times, and both recently this summer
CCEP is really nice at lunch on the terrace, but I've been disappointed with my last two dinners there. 400 Coups on the other hand probably has one of the best kitchen's in montreal for french market cuisine, right now imho. So i would chose them without hesitation.
